A TriTech™ insole is built with a top layer of felt. Aside from its own low thermal conductivity, felt is comprised of many interlocking layers of fabric which help trap air. As air is also a poor conductor of heat, the two work together to limit heat transfer and keep your feet warm throughout the day.
Staying dry is not only key for comfort, but also for warmth. TriTech™ insoles manage moisture in two key ways. First, the felt top layer wicks away moisture to prevent dampness. Second, excess moisture exits the top layer through hexagonal openings built into the bottom EVA layer.
While the top layer is designed for temperature and moisture management, the bottom EVA layer of a TriTech™ insole's is engineered for comfort. Ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) is a lightweight, highly compressible material with an outstanding ability to absorb impacts and reduce fatigue.
TriTech™ liners provide excellent thermal insulation through their multi-layer construction. The exterior aluminum foil reflects back radiant body heat, the central insulating fibers trap warm air, and the interior foam prevents cold air from entering inside by conforming to the shape of your leg and providing a snug fit.
Shaped with a multitude of small channels, the inner polypropylene layer of a TriTech™ liner draws moisture upwards and disperses it throughout. This is due to capillary action, a phenomenon whereby water flows in a narrow space (even against gravity) due to the attraction between polypropylene and water molecules.
Developed not only for warmth but also comfort, the TriTech™ liner features 5 layers of material that combine to provide optimal performance in cold weather. For everyday comfort, the layer of soft foam is of particular importance. This foam padding compresses as you move, providing flexibility and impact absorption with every step.
